Card networks in the BIN list

Every BIN belongs to one card network. Visa and Mastercard together hold more than half of the ranges; the list also covers domestic schemes such as RuPay (India), Elo (Brazil) and Mir (Russia), private-label store cards and EBT benefit cards.

About this BIN list

Each country page summarizes the BINs registered there — networks, the debit/credit split and the largest issuers — and links to a page for every bank with ten or more BINs. Bank pages list the BINs with their network, card type and product level, and each BIN links to the BIN checker and to the test card generator pre-filled with that BIN.

A BIN identifies the card network and the issuing institution only. It reveals nothing about an individual card, cardholder or account, and it cannot show whether a card exists or can be charged. Test numbers generated from a BIN are for development and QA only and are declined by every real payment system.

Frequently asked questions

What is a BIN list?

A BIN list is a table of bank identification numbers — the first digits of card numbers — with the bank, country, network and card type each range is registered to. Payment teams use it for routing, fraud rules and reporting.

How current is this BIN list?

It is built from the open bin-list-data dataset (a lite version of binlookup.io). BIN ranges change as banks launch products, merge or move processors, so treat any single entry as a strong hint, not a guarantee.

Does a BIN tell me who owns a card?

No. A BIN identifies the issuing institution and the card product only. It contains no information about the cardholder or the account.
